To their elation, Steven and Serena Collins have just given birth to twin girls. that day, in the same hospital, another set of female twins are born and abandoned. There is a hospital mix up and since the Collins' aren't sure which twins are theirs [this is before DNA testing], they adopt them all. Tragedy strikes a month later, when on a cruise and subsequent shipwreck, the twins and parents are separated. The play begins 21 year later in Stratford England when the twins meet up while acting in two separate shows, one a Shakespeare play and the other a modern Shakespeare review.
