The town of Westwich is depressed. There hasn't been a new business in years, the kids have lost the Science Fair for sixteen straight years to a conniving and cheating neighboring junior high school and Solomon Finklestein can't seem to remember his bar mitzvah portion. This year, though, Solomon and his best friend Alexander are using Uncle Mordechai's scientific journal to create the greatest experiment of all time. And, amazingly, it works and they create a teenage girl, Teena, who has green skin, huge feet, (a great sense of humor) and doesn't speak. And when she springs from the cauldron, Solomon disappears. Will Westwich win the science fair? Will Solomon ever return? And most importantly, if he doesn't, who will sing his Bar Mitzvah?
